Game Day Gloom

Show of hands, who in Pittsburgh is looking forward to the Superbowl this Sunday?

**crickets ** crickets**

That's what I thought. I'm anticipating the saddest Superbowl Sunday there ever was (at least, according to Pittsburghers). Either way we cheer, we cannot win. The only thing left to do is pick your poison.

Poision A is a putrid thing to swallow,  as it means cheering for the Baltimore Ravens to win (my God, it's a struggle for me to just type those words) with the end goal of preventing the San Francisco 49ers from joining the Steelers as the only "Six Time Superbowl Champs". It's totally understandable to want to be the sole team that holds that esteemed recognition in NFL History. But that's a lot to sacrifice- a Baltimore win in exchange for sole possession of a title? Ugh.

Poison B is just as rancid, since it means cheering for the 49ers to win, with the end goal of preventing Baltimore - once again- from the glory of a Superbowl win (something all Pittsburghers can get behind). Let's be honest, Ray Lewis doesn't deserve the win or the satisfaction - although if you ask me,  he barely deserves the confines of a prison cell. But that, too, is a lot to sacrifice - sharing the title of "Six-time Superbowl Champs" with another team? UGH.

So which will you choose? For myself,  the sheer thought of Baltimore getting the satisfaction of a Superbowl win makes me want to stab many things and puke many times and cry many tears. An adult temper tantrum, if you will. So yea, go 49ers I really hope you win or whatever. I hate this.
